A lifelong Republican, Lee has devoted his professional career to public service. Lee is a 25 year veteran with the Seaford Police Department,
retiring at the rank of Detective Sergeant. He immediately returned to public service as the Sussex County State Detective of the Attorney
General’s assigned to interstate transport of Delaware Fugitives. Lee held the position for 10 years and retired in January of 2013. For the past 3 years, he has been serving the residents of Sussex County as Sheriff..
Robert T. Lee
Lee has called Sussex County home for the majority of his adult life. After graduation from American University in Washington, DC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Criminal Justice, he worked with the Metro Police in Washington DC for three years before moving to Sussex County in 1977. Lee has worked closely throughout his 35 years of Delaware public service with state and local police, the court system, Department of Corrections, and other out of state law enforcement agencies. Lee is a member of the Criminal Justice Board of Sussex Tech. Lee is also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Delaware Farm Bureau, NRA, Ducks Unlimited - Nanticoke Chapter. Lee and his wife Lori are members of the musical Ministry at Crossroads Community Church in Georgetown, DE. He is also a member of SASS (Single Action Shooting Society - Eastern Shore Renagades) and Paden's Posse.
